We are commited to the best possible experience

Our founder, Dr. Kevin Boyd, is a distinguished pediatric dentist and educator renowned for his expertise in diagnosing and treating pediatric airway health issues. He and his team opened Dentistry for Children with the vision of being a trusted dental home for all children. Our team has created a welcoming practice environment, ensuring your family feels safe, comfortable, and well-informed.

The Dentistry For Children difference

We cultivate a child-friendly environment
We recognize that the dentist's chair can be intimidating, especially for young children. That's why we've created a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment where your child's dental visit becomes a positive experience. Our friendly and experienced staff are experts in working with kids of all ages and varying needs, ensuring that your child feels at ease. By transforming the traditional view of the dentist into a place of fun and relaxation, we aim to eliminate any stigma associated with dental care to instill a lifelong appreciation for maintaining a healthy smile.
We prioritize preventive care
We're committed to revolutionizing pediatric dental care and orthodontics by prioritizing early diagnosis and prevention. That's why we advocate for children to visit our office at the earliest possible age. By identifying and addressing growth issues or oral problems sooner, we ensure less invasive and more effective treatment down the road.
We believe in collaboration with other providers
It would be silly to think we can treat a child’s health in a vacuum. So many of our bodily systems are intertwined. That's why we collaborate closely with other healthcare experts, such as ENTs and pediatricians. Additionally, we offer comprehensive services, including speech therapy and nutrition planning, to provide holistic care and help children live their healthiest lives.
We focus on educating parents and providers
Our mission extends beyond our practice. We're dedicated to educating and training fellow pediatric dentists, general dentists, and orthodontists on the importance of airway health. Dr. Boyd is an attending instructor for the residency-training program in Pediatric Dentistry at Lurie Children's Hospital and serves as a dental consultant to the Sleep Medicine service, ensuring that airway health is integrated into everyday practice.
We understand the importance of advocacy
We're passionate about raising awareness concerning pediatric oral health issues, including airway health and TMJ. Dr. Boyd's expertise is recognized globally as he lectures on topics like Early Childhood Malocclusion, pediatric sleep breathing hygiene, and the evolving field of Evolutionary Oral Medicine, always promoting the healthy development of children. You can listen to Dr. Boyd discussing the advantages of early intervention and malocclusion treatment with Airway Health Solutions here.

Dr. Kevin Boyd, MS, DDS

Board Certified Pediatric Dentist

Prior to receiving his specialty license in pediatric dentistry from the University of Iowa, he earned an MSc degree from Michigan State University in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. His graduate research interests centered around the impact of commercially-processed foods on dental health and body weight. His Nutrition background has served as a great foundation for the specialty practice of Pediatric Dentistry given that many oral health problems are often associated with unhealthy eating; dental caries (cavities) and early periodontal (gum) inflammation (gingivitis) are two of the most common problems associated with unhealthy snacking behaviors.

Dr. Boyd has extensive training and clinical experience in performing risk assessment, diagnosing, and treating very young children who present with non-self-correcting malocclusions with possibly-associated sleep and breathing difficulties.

He lectures worldwide on the topics of Early Childhood Malocclusion (under 72 months), pediatric sleep breathing hygiene, and the newly emerging healthcare discipline of Evolutionary Oral Medicine, also often called Darwinian Dentistry.

He is married and has two adult daughters. When not working, he enjoys tennis, skiing and sailing.

Also a Primary Care Dentist (PCD) who treats patients of all ages, Shira has a special interest in advanced risk assessment, diagnosis and treatment of issues often associated with jaw joint dysfunction, or ‘TMJ’ disease and the short and long-term problems it can pose for young children, adolescents and adults.

After spending her formative years in Israel, she attended Tufts University where she earned her DMD degree. “I was drawn to dentistry because I needed quite a lot of dental work as a kid. My dentist was always happy to see me and made dentistry seem so great.”

Dr. Levy is married and is the mother of two small boys. In her spare time, she appreciates a good book, enjoys travelling (but hates to fly) and a nice meal.
